🐻 WHAT TO BRING
Getting ready for your Manitoba black bear hunt?
Here’s a no-nonsense checklist to make sure you’re geared up for the bush.
🧥 CLOTHING & FOOTWEAR
• Blaze-orange hat and vest (fall season only)
• Warm, quiet layers rated to 32°F / 0°C
• Polar fleece or wool (avoid noisy fabrics)
• Walking boots and rubber boots
• Waterproof rain jacket and pants
🎒 GEAR & EQUIPMENT
• Head net and gloves
• Binoculars
• Compass and flashlight (or headlamp)
• Thermacell or bug repellent
• Odor-free spray to reduce human scent
🎣 FISHING & EXTRAS
• Fishing rod and tackle for downtime on Long Lake
• Garmin InReach (no cell service in the area)
• Or iPhone 14+ with satellite texting capability
⚠️ SAFETY
• Safety belts must be worn on all tree stands — no exceptions.
